September Discussion: How do we ‘Create a Beloved Community’ and ’Nurture Mind and Spirit?’

On Friday afternoon of September 20 (3:00 – 5:00) and Saturday morning September 21 (10:00 – 12:00) I will lead a discussion for the following two questions: 1) what does it mean for UUCGF to be a place where we ‘create beloved community’ and ’nurture mind and spirit?’, and 2) how can we handle disagreements or differences of opinion in ways that ‘affirm peaceable resolution of conflict’ within our community? Two discussions will be held, and If needed, a Saturday evening discussion can be added.

Both gatherings will be in-person only, to allow for more interactions between participants in a variety of activities. Members and friends who regularly attend UUCGF will be asked to sign up to attend one of the two gatherings, with a cap of around 15 – 20 people per session. My hope is for as many participants as possible, in a structured setting with an opportunity for everyone to be heard.

My sermon on September 22 will address and reflect on the discussions and discoveries of the two workshops.  All of this, hopefully, will generate lots to talk about at our first 2024-25 Congregational Conversation after our potluck! Also, a detailed synopsis of all this discussion will be sent out to the entire UUCGF mailing list.

Hope that you sign up for one of these gatherings when a sign-up email goes out in August – and it will be good to begin the 2024-25 church year together in September!

Warm regards,

Rev. Barbara
