Back in July, the Board of Trustees voted to reopen the building on September 1 and to begin in-person worship in the sanctuary beginning the Sunday after Labor Day. It was then determined that the most inclusive manner of doing so would be to alternate strictly Zoom with hybrid in-person services. As you know, the RTF made a recommendation to the Board to temporarily suspend the first hybrid service–a recommendation that the Board voted upon and agreed to. At this point, this decision has only impacted the service that was held on September 12, 2021. The Board supports the continuation of the schedule in which strictly Zoom and hybrid in-person services alternate. Therefore, next week’s service on September 26th will be a hybrid in-person service. This is also the first service of the current church year at which Rev. Barbara Threet will be officiating! There will be an outdoor coffee hour following the service, weather permitting. The Board and the Reopening Task Force want to provide an inclusive worship experience while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all worshipers, worship leaders and staff. Services will continue to be available via Zoom for those who choose to worship at home. A link for the service will be emailed to all members and friends.
All in-person attendees must wear their face covering over both mouth and nose throughout the service and while inside the building. Worship leaders will be able to remove their masks when presenting if they maintain the appropriate social distance. Please expect that seating will also be socially distanced. Other safety procedures will be in effect as well. The Reopening Committee will continue to monitor the guidelines recommended by multiple agencies in order to evaluate, modify procedures, and/or recommend building closure if/when circumstances are deemed necessary.
Looking forward to seeing you in person or on Zoom next Sunday!
