Board President’s Notes

by Bob Rockwell

How time flies! Elayne is asking that I write another President’s note for the monthly newsletter. It seems that I just wrote one for November. Thanksgiving has just passed with unusually cold weather. I hope that the homeless shelters and food pantries and free meal kitchen are well supported. The elections are over and hopefully our politics can be steered more towards compassion. Christmas is approaching, a season to celebrate the embodiment of love and compassion in the newborn baby Jesus. For some it is the celebration of the sun’s reversing its path on the darkest night of the year. It is also a time to celebrate with gifts, good food and drink shared with family and friends. It is the time for celebrating the light of consciousness embodied in lighting the Hanukkah candles. It is a time to reflect on the mystery and meaning of our existence, alone and in the fellowship of others. I look forward to seeing you at our Sunday and Christmas Eve services.
